"bike rack"

The use of letterforms as everyday objects is a cool idea. I read in a typography book that the Salt Lake City library had some inventive uses for letterforms. Their bike rack, uses the letters bike rack. The letterforms are sans-serif and very simple, creating a sleek urban look to the spot.

  1. Although this ends up being sleek, but at least for a bicyclist, not very functional. Planning recommendations are that a bike should be able to rest at two points on the frame against the rack. Plus it would be difficult for both sides of the letters to be used to attach bikes for most of the letters.

    It looks cool though.
